"Man-ologues" are not originally a part of The Vagina Monologues, but are something the Clark version likes to add as a way of getting multiple perspectives and achieving a more well-rounded show. Three men are chosen to perform a memorized, self-written monologue. These monologues are performed in the middle of the actual show as an extension of intermission.
Here's how it works:
You, the male Clark student, write a (roughly) 3-5 minute monologue about your own sexuality, a story about your penis, your relationship with women, what you think of feminism, domestic violence, related activism, or anything else you want to say that falls somewhere in those categories.
Submit this monologue to the 2012 Vagina Monologues directors NO LATER than Sunday January 29. The monologues can be submitted here: clarkvagmon@gmail.com
The monologues will then be reviewed by the directors. Three will be chosen to be a part of the show! You will hear back within one to two days of submitting your piece.
NOTE: The performances are February 17 and 18. That is a Friday and Saturday. You are expected to be at both performances. Each performance starts at 7:00 pm. You are also expected to be able to attend part of the evening rehearsals during the week leading up to these performances, as well as part of a Sunday afternoon rehearsal on February 5. More specific times will be known closer to those dates.
If you have ANY questions, comments, or concerns, please e-mail the directors: clarkvagmon@gmail.com
We're so looking forward to reading your monologues!!!
