The Consortium coordinates a free shuttle bus service. This intercampus transportation service, which uses a wheelchair-lift equipped bus, connects six Worcester campuses (WPI, Becker, Assumption, Clark, Worcester State and Holy Cross) with each other and the Worcester Public Library, Union Station, Worcester Art Museum and the downtown area. Brochures on the shuttle service and other transportation options are also available in the registrars' and student services offices on each campus, as well as in the Consortium office.
Student Council Mall Shuttle:
The shuttle offers free transportation to area shopping hot spots every Friday and Saturday throughout the school year. On Friday, the bus makes regular routes between 2pm – 10pm to the Solomon Pond Mall in Marlborough, MA. The Solomon Pond Mall features over 115 shops and restaurants as well as a 15-screen movie theater. On Saturday, the bus makes regular routes between 2pm – 10pm to the Shoppes at Blackstone Valley, where specialty stores and popular restaurants line the outdoors with a newly renovated movie theater within the complex.
Van Rentals:
Student Leadership & Programming can assist student clubs and organizations in renting a 7 passenger van for club and organization needs. The van rentals are done at a negotiated rate and students may travel to and from events within 250 miles of campus. Drivers must be at least 21 years old and have defensive driving course certification through Clark University.
Boston Bus:
Student Council offers a free bus to Boston every other Saturday. Grab a seat on the bus: September 4; September 18; October 2; October 16; November 6; November 20, February 5; February 19; April 2; and April16. The bus leaves Maywood St at 2pm and leaves Boston from Tremont St at 10pm. The bus is filled on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Clark is now home to two self-service, fuel efficient Zipcars which are available for use 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The cars are located in reserved spaces in the Clark University Parking Garage on Downing Street and they are available to all staff and students ages 18 and older. Gas, insurance, 180 free miles, reserved parking and roadside assistance are included in low hourly and daily rates.
Student Council and the Office of Student Leadership & Programming (SLP) offer several off-campus trips for a minimal fee.
Worcester Regional Transit Authority (WRTA): Offers affordable transportation throughout the area including a commuter rail to Boston.
